WXSN 2006

WXSN is a plotter for radiosonde data, which reads WMO TEMP coded data (TTAA, TTBB, PPBB). It's useful for weather forecasting, especially for severe storms. Nothing can replace the look at the sounding. It can draws Skew-T/Log-P, Emagram and 26 paramteres:

K Index, Vertical Totals, Cross Totals, Total Totals, CAPE, CIN, Lifted Index at 500 mb, at 300 mb, Maximum Lifted Index, CAP Strength, Mean Wind SFC-6 km, Storm-Relative Helicity - SFC-3 km, SFC-2 km, SFC-1 km, Low Level Vertical Wind Shear SFC-1km, Deep Layer Shear SFC-6km, Energy-Helicity Index, Bulk Richardosn Number, BRN Shear, Top of Moist Layer, Delta-T 700-500 mb, Equilibrium Leve, Precipitable Water, SWEAT Index, Convective Temperature, WindEx (Miller '72). The parcel can be lifted from surface, mixed layer, or most unstable level. The hodograph can plot wind vectors, vertical wind shear, mean wind, storm-relative winds. On the left image you can see the screenshot of WXSN for Norman, Oklahoma (RAW). Click here for examples: emagram and hodograph.
